Project name: Burkholderia ambifaria AMMD
Description: Burkholderia ambifaria AMMD. This strain (genomovar VII; AMMD; ATCC BAA-244; LMG 19182) is the type strain for the species and was isolated from the rhizosphere of healthy pea plants in Wisconsin, USA, in 1985. This strain is very effective in controlling phytopathogenic Pythium species (responsible for pre- and post-emergence damping-off in peas) and Aphanomyces euteiches (responsible for root-rot and the main factor limiting pea production in the American Midwest).
