Project name: Nilaparvata lugens

Description: This project aims to develop genetic markers for the brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens (Homoptera: Delphacidae) and generate the genetic linkage map.The map will provide information for identifying the genetic basis of important traits for N. lugens, including virulence to resistant rice, insecticide resistance, virus transmission, and wing polymorphisms. In addition, the newly developed markers will support studies of the morphology physiology, evolution, and ecology of this significant insect pest.The first version of the linkage map consists of 474 simple sequence repeats, 43 single-nuleotide ploymorphisms and 1 sequence-tagged site
