Project name: Mus musculus strain:STOCK Tg (Nr5a1-cre)7Lowl/J
Description: To investigate the role of steroidogenic factor 1 (SF1) - expressing neurons in the ventromedial hypothalamus (VMH) in inflammatory responses of adipose tissue in high-fat diet (HFD) -fed mice, SF1 neurons in the VMH were ablated by the injection of an adeno-associated virus (AAV) that expresses diphtheria toxin A (DTA) in the presence of Cre recombinase into the VMH of SF1-Cre mice (mice that express Cre under the control of the SF1 gene promoter). SF1 neuron-ablated and WT control mice were maintained on HFD for 10 weeks after allowing them to recover from virus injection for 5 weeks on a normal diet (ND) before tissue collection. Changes in gene expression in inguinal white adipose tissue (ingWAT) were then examined by RNA-sequencing analysis.
