Project name: Leuconostoc mesenteroides subsp. mesenteroides strain:NTM048
Description: Species of lactic acid bacteria consists of gut microbiota. Gut microbiota produces many kinds of beneficial metabolites such as free fatty acids, amino acids, vitamins, and polysaccharides. These metabolites are a key factor in shaping the biochemical profile of the diet and impact on host energy metabolism. By revealing gut bacterial genome sequencing, physiological role of these bacteria to produce beneficial metabolites can be estimated and it would contribute detailed functional analysis of these metabolites. The goal of this study is to elucidate host energy regulation by gut microbial metabolites and the development of preventive and therapeutic strategies for the related metabolic disorders.
