Project name: Prionailurus bengalensis euptilurus strain:wild individuals
Description: The project 'Analysis of genetic diversity in Tsushima leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis euptilurus)' aims to clarify the genetic diversity and genetic structure of Tsushima leopard cat in the wild. Tsushima leopard cat is regional population of Amur leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis euptilurus), and endangered species in Japan. This project developed the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers using Genotyping by Random Amplicon Sequencing - Direct (GRAS-Di) analysis, which is one of the genome-wide analysis. We developed more than one hundred SNP markers. The goal of this project is preparation of genetic markers to conserve Tsushima leopard cat, such as individual identification and parentage.
