Description: This dataset contains 16S RNA amplicon sequencing data from a phase II clinical trial evaluating the effect of Bifidobacterium longum subsp. longum BL21 on preventing acute radiation enteritis in pelvic radiotherapy patients. Fecal samples were collected before, during, and after radiotherapy from subjects with or without BL21 intervention. The V3-V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene was sequenced to analyze gut microbiota composition and diversity changes associated with radiation exposure and probiotic treatment.
