Description: This project investigates the relationship between the oral microbiota and sarcopenia in older adults. A total of 148 community-dwelling participants were classified into sarcopenia and non-sarcopenia groups according to the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia (AWGS) criteria. Saliva samples were analyzed using high-throughput 16S rRNA gene sequencing to assess oral microbial diversity and composition. Clinical parameters, including skeletal muscle mass, grip strength, nutritional status, and oral health, were integrated with microbial profiles to construct a predictive model. The findings provide insights into the potential role of oral microbiota in sarcopenia risk assessment and early prevention.
