Description: Long-term abuse of antibiotics and intensive breeding mode have made it as a reservoir and transmission hotspot for antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs). Due to the anti-pathogen features, diverse traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been applied in animal husbandry to replace antibiotics. But questions regarding the mobility, bacterial hosts, and human health risks of ARGs in animal husbandry with TCM addition remain poorly solved. Here, cecal digesta was collected in a representative Chinese local chicken breed (Wuding chicken) between the moderate stocking and high stocking with different TCMs addition, and analyzed by the metagenomics-based technology.
