Description: Our previous population study identified Streptococcus anginosus (Sa) and Streptococcus constellatus (Sc), in both tissue and stool samples, as signatures of gastric cancer in multi-center cohorts (PMID: 35167866). Here we aim to investigate the potential role of Sa/Sc in gastric cancer progression by metagenomic sequencing and experiment validation. Our results (PMID: 41482458) elucidate the role of S. anginosus-derived methionine in GC progression, shedding light on intricate metabolic interplay between S. anginosus and host.
