Description: Activated sludge samples were collected from microcosm experiments aimed to reveal the diversity of microbial predators in sludge microbiota by using rRNA-stable isotope probing combined with amplicon sequencing of 16S rRNA and 18S rRNA genes. Furthermore, activated and anaerobic sludge samples were obtained from a local wastewater treatment plant over two years, to track the abundance and dynamics of bacterial predators using amplicon sequencing of 16S rRNA genes.
