Description: The fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith) is a severely destructive pest native to the Americas, but now becomes an alien invasive pest in China. It is urgent to understanding its genetic background to help make effective management strategies. In this study, the resequencing analysis of 8 populations in 6 locations is performed, which demonstrated the Chinese fall armyworm was most likely invaded from Africa.
