Abstract
For a small group of high-risk patients with prostate adenoma, cryosurgery should be the method of choice (about 5-10+ of all cases). This intervention is only a palliative measure. The regrowth of residual adenoma is minimal. The clinical importance of this new technique is greater for those urological schools preferring the open surgical approach compared to those mainly performing transurethral resection.
